 Position Summary

USA Shooting is at a pivotal moment as we gear up to be the host nation for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. The National Shotgun Team Manager leads USA Shooting’s Shotgun Program, steering elite and junior teams toward becoming the undisputed global leaders in shotgun disciplines. This critical role combines strategic vision with technical expertise to preserve our esteemed legacy while propelling our program to unprecedented success.

 Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative training strategies focused on LA 2028 Games excellence
  • Manage program budget and resources to optimize podium success
  • Counsel elite athletes in technical skills, conditioning, and performance psychology
  • Serve as team leader at domestic and international competitions
  • Create sustainable pipeline of elite shooters for 2028 and beyond
  • Collaborate with high performance staff on selection procedures and other strategic program initiatives
  • Maintain robust communication with athletes, coaches, NGB staff and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with SafeSport guidelines and Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act
  • Drive grassroots program development and talent identification
  • Unite and build powerful team culture across all program levels

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years management experience in organized shooting sports
  • Comprehensive understanding of shotgun disciplines
  • Strong budget and financial management skills
  • Excellence in stakeholder communication and engagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of developing international-level athletes
  • Demonstrated success in building program culture
  • Experience with junior athlete development

Position Details

  • Location: Colorado Springs, CO (possible consideration for remote work accommodations)

The National Paralympic Team Manager leads USA Shooting’s Paralympic Program, shaping the next generation of elite Paralympic shooting athletes and driving international competitive success. Based at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this pivotal role combines technical expertise with transformative leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive training programs for National Paralympic and Development teams
  • Manage program budget and USOPC funds to achieve strategic objectives
  • Coach elite Paralympic athletes in technical shooting skills, physical conditioning, and mental performance
  • Lead team at domestic and international competitions as head coach
  • Develop and implement athlete selection procedures in compliance with USOPC and NGB guidelines
  • Oversee Paralympic competitions from local events to team selections
  • Coordinate Junior Olympic camps and Paralympic Championships
  • Create and manage grassroots development initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

USA Shooting Team, High-Performance Director

Position Summary:

The Director of High Performance is central to curating the world’s premier shooting team across all disciplines, charged with orchestrating the strategic utilization of US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) resources to set the gold standard in high-performance sports. This pivotal role involves meticulous daily planning and execution across key areas including Sport Science Support, USOPC Funding, and adherence to procedural standards for both our Olympic and Paralympic teams. Positioned at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the flexibility for remote work and required periodic visits, this position also necessitates extensive domestic and international travel. Integral during numerous domestic and international competitions, often on weekends, the Director will lead our USA Shooting team to excel. The ultimate measure of success for this position is consistently achieving podium finishes, reflecting best-in-class high-performance principles that this role champions on the international stage, thereby ensuring our status as the leading shooting team globally.

Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in managing organized sports programs, with a specific emphasis on working with elite athletes.
  • Athletics Background: A strong preference for experience in athletics, working with both able-bodied and para athletes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Must possess the ability to engage constructively, offering and receiving feedback effectively; skilled in collaborating with boards and committees; and adept at communicating both verbally and in writing to large groups, including making compelling presentations to athletes and the USOPC.
  • Financial and Strategic Acumen: Robust financial and planning management skills are essential, as the role requires oversight of the entire USOPC funding structure. This includes preparing audit reports and managing USOPC funds with efficiency and accountability.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Developing and implementing comprehensive, high-performance strategies that align with the long-term goals of USA Shooting, focusing on creating the strongest teams and achieving top results in Olympic, Paralympic, and world championship competitions.
  • Athlete Development and Support: Overseeing programs that support athlete development, including physical training, mental conditioning, and technical skills enhancement. This involves close collaboration with coaches, sports scientists, and other support staff to ensure athletes are well-prepared for peak performance.
  • Resource Management: Managing and optimizing the use of US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) resources, including funding, sports science services, and training facilities. Ensuring that these resources are allocated efficiently to meet the team’s needs.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: This role requires adept leadership and coordination with various stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, medical staff, and administrative personnel, to cultivate a unified and high-performing team environment. Responsibilities extend to managing collegiate partnerships, including NIL agreements with elite collegiate athletes, spearheading initiatives within the Juniors program, and developmental-level camps and competitions. These efforts are crucial for nurturing and expanding the talent pipeline for future success.
  • Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously assessing the performance of athletes and the effectiveness of training programs, adjusting as necessary to ensure progress towards achieving international podium finishes. Develop data analytics to modernize preparation and performance metrics.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensuring adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards, including those set by the USOPC and international governing bodies, while promoting best practices in all aspects of high-performance sports management. This includes but is not limited to, coordination with USADA, ISSF, WSPS, SafeSport. Managing licensing of athletes and officials through ISSF and WSPS, and maintaining facility use rosters to ensure compliance with SafeSport and background certifications.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this position includes a competitive salary (range $70,000 – $120,000) commensurate with experience and qualifications alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
